Ground Beef Stew with Potatoes and Peas

Ingredients
Serves 4 - Preparation time 10 minutes

onions, finely chopped

teaspoons ground coriander
(½) teaspoon turmeric

1 inch piece fresh ginger, finely chopped

chili, finely chopped

heaped teaspoon garam masala

) lb. ground beef
(½) lb. small potatoes, quartered

) cups peas
Salt, to taste

Heat the oil in a frying pan, add the onions, and cook until soft. Add the spices and fry for 5 minutes over low heat. If the mixture starts to burn, add 1 tablespoon of water. Stir in the ground beef and cook over high heat until very well browned.‍ ‍Meanwhile, bring a saucepan of water to a boil. Add the potatoes and salt to taste. Lower the heat, cover, and cook gently for 5 minutes, then add the peas. Continue cooking until the potatoes and peas are tender. Drain and stir into the beef mixture until well combined. Serve hot.
